How Do Residents Report Injured Animals on the Road?

As fall approaches, the inevitable clash between deer and cars rises significantly. The township would like to inform residents of what to do if you encounter a dead or injured animal.

ROAD KILLED DEER

  1. Should be reported to the PA Game Commission Dispatch Center at 1-833-PGC-HUNT (1-833-742-4868) or 1-833-PGC-WILD (1-833-742-9453). Through the Game Commission, a variety of entities handle road-killed deer removal throughout the state and the dispatch center can clarify the proper authorities to notify based on the location of the animal.

  2. Can also be reported to our Police Department at 610-827-5007.

WILDLIFE EMERGENCIES

All emergencies should be directed to the PA Game Commission Dispatch Center by calling 1-833-PGC-HUNT (1-833-742-4868) or 1-833-PGC-WILD (1-833-742-9453).

A dispatcher will contact the warden serving the county in which the emergency is taking place. We appreciate your concern for wildlife. Please keep in mind that our officers cover large expanses of land and necessarily prioritize their work load. Mother Nature is sometimes difficult to see in action.

Please note, the Game Commission will not retrieve smaller deceased animals such as foxes from roads or private property.
