HOME RESALE
West Pikeland Township does not require a resale inspection or Use and Occupancy Permit upon sale or purchase of an existing residential home. Commercial uses requires a Certificate of Occupancy per our Zoning Ordinance:

SECTION 1611. USE AND OCCUPANCY PERMITS
A. It shall be unlawful for the applicant, person or other entity to sell, occupy any building
or other structure or parcel of land until a use and occupancy permit, if required, has been
duly issued therefor. A use and occupancy permit shall be required prior to any of the
following activities:
1. Use and occupancy of any parcel of land, building or other structure hereinafter
erected, altered or enlarged for which a zoning permit is required.
2. For all commercial and industrial uses.
3. For new construction in all zoning districts prior to sale.
TRASH AND RECYCLING
West Pikeland Township does not provide trash or recycling for residents. Township residents are required to either find their own private trash hauler or determine that this service is provided by their HOA. We do not offer recommendations on private haulers.

SMOKE DETECTORS
West Pikeland Township requires hard wired smoke detectors in new construction only. There are no requirements for the installation of smoke detectors for resale.
SEWAGE/WELL PERMITS
Sewage and Well Permits are issued by the Chester County Health Department. Request a permit here.

ISSUES WITH SEWAGE/SEPTIC
West Pikeland Township does not maintain or administer any sewer or water in the township.
Most properties in West Pikeland Township have their own septic and well. It is the responsibility of the resident to maintain their septic and well.
