Volunteers are needed!

“Ask not what your township can do for you…”

If you completed the quote with “…but what you can do for your township” then congratulations! You have an historic sense of the importance of volunteer participation in West Pikeland Township!

There are any number of ways you can volunteer your time, knowledge and experience on behalf of your neighbors.  Here are some Township volunteer committees that currently have openings:

The Emergency Management Committee deals with all aspects of disasters within the community, including writing and exercising emergency plans, reducing the damage from disasters through smart prevention, helping emergency responders coordinate during emergencies, and getting back on its feet after a disaster.

The Park & Recreation Committee plans events for two parks (and a third coming on line) as well as a network of trails. They team with Arts & Culture, the West Pikeland Land Trust and non-profit organizations within the township.  Volunteers for this committee may become members of the board or much-need volunteers for events.

The Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) is defined under state law and is responsible for preserving and maintaining the character of our area, especially the Chester Springs Historic District, which dates back prior to the Revolutionary War.

Historic Commission reviews properties thought the township for designation as historic sites.

Didn’t fill out the quote correctly? Don’t worry – the important thing is that you now know about the importance of volunteering with the Township and what opportunities you have. John F Kennedy would approve!
